Such dedication,
Indeed, dwells in few.
If she tried hard enough,
She could make the grass blue.
And the sky would be green
If she took a notion
To make it that way
With her endless devotion.
I think of her
When I'm about to give in,
Then I persevere
And truly begin.
She'll still be standing
When others fall down.
She makes me smile
When I start to frown.
She's one of a kind,
Stands out in the crowd.
To be of her species,
She makes me proud.
I wrote this poem in 2002 about someone who inspired me to work hard to try to do something important with my life.
